FAQs
What is the Animal Ark used for?
The Ark protects pets from hazardous chemical and biological agents, radioactive particles, and smoke inhalation by creating a sealed, positive-pressure environment with continuously filtered air.
How does the positive-pressure system work?
The Ark requires a Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR), such as the MB-90 (sold separately), which pumps clean, filtered air inside, preventing contaminants from entering.
What animals can use the Ark?
It’s designed for small pets up to 10 kg (22 lbs), including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds, and reptiles. Larger animals may not fit properly and could compromise the enclosure’s seal.
Does the Ark come with a PAPR and filters?
No, these are sold separately. The Ark is compatible with 40mm NATO-threaded filters, such as the NBC-77 SOF Filters.
How long does the Ark provide protection?
The Ark’s rugged materials resist blister agents for over 6 hours. With an MB-90 PAPR and fresh filters, it provides up to 12 hours of filtered air per battery set.
Can I see my pet inside the Ark?
Yes, the fully translucent material allows for easy monitoring of your pet.
Is the Ark easy to transport?
Yes, at 19 lbs and foldable, it’s lightweight and portable. It can be mounted on a stroller, wagon, sled, or truck bed for easy mobility.
How should I store the Ark?
Store in a cool, dark, and dust-free environment between -10°C and 50°C, away from sunlight, heat sources, and flammable chemicals.
What is the shelf life of the Ark?
The Ark has a 15-year shelf life when stored properly.
Can multiple pets fit inside?
Yes, it accommodates one small/medium dog or two cats. Rodents and reptiles should be placed inside their existing habitat within the Ark for added safety.
Does the Ark require assembly?
Minimal assembly is needed. It deploys in seconds—simply connect the PAPR, insert a filter, and ensure the enclosure is sealed.
Can the Ark be used indoors?
Yes, but it must be connected to a PAPR unit to maintain airflow.
Is the Ark reusable?
Yes, the Ark is fully reusable with proper care. Filters should be replaced as needed, and the unit cleaned after exposure to contaminants.
Can humans use the Ark?
No, the Ark is not designed for humans—it is built specifically for small animals.
Has the Ark been tested for real-world emergencies?
Yes, it is laboratory-tested and manufactured in Israel to meet military-grade protection standards.
